MP Ambica Lakshminarayana distributes assistive devices to disabled

Anantapur: MP Ambica Lakshminarayana distributed assistive devices to the beneficiaries under ADIP and Vayoshree Yojana schemes implemented by ALIMCO, here on Thursday.

As many as 1,194 essential equipment, including battery-operated tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, walking sticks, CP chairs and walkers, worth about Rs 70 lakh were given to 454 differently abled persons of Anantapur Assembly constituency.

A birthday cake was also cut marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on this occasion. MP Lakshminarayana stated that efforts to uplift the differently-abled would continue steadfastly to foster independence and self-confidence. He assured that similar distribution drives will follow in the remaining constituencies and called for tight coordination among public representatives, district administration and ALIMCO to ensure welfare benefits reach every eligible citizen.

DLSA Secretary G Archana, former MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy, ADCC Chairman Kesava Reddy, ALIMCO representative Sunitha, department officials and others were present.
