Police gear up with advanced protective equipment for peaceful polls
Anantapur: District SP P Jagadeesh inspected advanced police protective gear, weaponry, and vehicles at the DPO premises on Sunday to ensure peaceful elections.
The review covered robotic suits, tear smoke grenades, riot guns, rubber pellets, drones, and ‘Vajra’ riot control vehicles. The SP also evaluated the deployment of concertina coils as security barriers for sensitive areas and counting centers.
Instructing officials to maintain constant operational readiness, he emphasized strict law and order enforcement. AR Additional SP Iliyas Basha and Urban DSP Karunasagar Rao participated in the security review.
