Cab driver kills wife, seven in-laws in Karnataka over dispute using grinding stone and pestle
A horrific incident came to light in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, when a cab driver went on a killing spree and axed seven members of his wife’s family over the course of one week due to a domestic dispute, shocking the local community.
The incident took place in a residential area near 59th Cross, near Bhashyam Circle, Rajajinagar Police Station. The accused is 53-year-old cab driver Indushekar. He got married to a woman named Sunita about 20 years ago but they had been having an argument for some time. Sunita often went to visit her parents. Although family members tried to mediate, the dispute continued to escalate. As Sunita’s mother and brothers were always backing her, Indushekar became more and more furious and decided to kill her entire family.
He killed his wife Sunita by hitting her with a grinding stone. He then wrapped her body up and threw her near Nandi Hills, a popular tourist spot in Chikkaballapur district. To avoid suspicion, he turned off her phone and told his neighbours that she had gone on a trip.
The next day he invited his brothers-in-law Shivakumar and Shankar to his house to celebrate. Whilst they were there he attacked them with a pestle and killed them. He then killed his sisters-in-law Divya and Nalini, mother-in-law Rupavati and seven-year-old nephew Puneeth (Shivakumar’s son). He killed seven people in total: his wife Sunita, his mother-in-law Rupavati, his brothers-in-law Shivakumar and Shankar, their wives Divya and Nalini and his seven-year-old nephew Puneeth.
After the murders Shekhar cleaned the blood from the walls and floors of the house using chemicals. As Nalini was missing, her mother reported her as missing at Srirampura Police Station. The police registered a case and began an investigation. They looked into the missing person details, the suspect’s conversations and behaviour and arrested Indushekar two days ago.
The accused admitted to killing all seven people during questioning. The pestle used in the killings and the car used to transport the bodies have been recovered by police. Using information from Shekhar, police began searching for the bodies near Nandi Hills. One body has been found so far and police are searching for the other six. They are also looking into whether any other family members were involved in the heinous act.
