Governor Gehlot tells Bidar University graduates to put skill to national use

Governor of Karnataka Thaawarchand Gehlot told the first Convocation of Bidar University that youth stand at the centre of national development and that students must turn knowledge, skill and talent toward the good of society and the country.

Graduation, he said while presiding on September 12, opens a new stretch of life. He asked the new graduates to stay modest when they succeed, keep courage when trouble comes, and stand up again with resolve after any fall.

Whenever the path ahead looks unclear, he said, they should put to themselves the question, “How can my knowledge and abilities contribute to the welfare of society and the nation?” That habit, he added, would give purpose to their lives and real weight to their share in national growth.

Artificial Intelligence and other new tools, he noted, are changing work at speed. “Students should meet nearby problems with fresh thinking and look for ways to invent answers. Agriculture, healthcare, education, tourism, digital services, the environment and rural development leave wide room for new ideas and start-ups. An idea backed by sound knowledge and firm will can turn a modest

attempt into a large shift,” he stated.

“We must build an India that is rooted in its rich knowledge tradition and powered by the wings of modern science,” he said. India, he added, is moving quickly toward a place among the world’s leading and developed countries.

“Youth matter especially in meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim of a developed India by 2047. Those leaving universities now will be the scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs, doctors, administrators and nation-builders of the years ahead, so their learning and skill should feed the country’s progress,” the Governor said.

Bidar’s history, culture, architecture and mixed life, the Governor said, show that India’s strength sits not only in goods but in knowledge customs and cultural awareness. Kalyana Karnataka, he said, does not lack talent; the task is to join that talent to good teaching, skill work, research and present-day openings. He trusted Bidar University to keep giving the region’s young people room to meet their hopes and to grow as a hub of knowledge-led growth.

He asked students to aim high, fix large targets and work without pause. “Through knowledge and skill, the young would help make India self-reliant, economically strong and developed, and would bring honour to their families, the University, Karnataka and the nation,” he said.

He then congratulated Shivayya Swamiji and R M Janwadkar on honorary degrees and offered congratulations and good wishes to every student who took a degree or medal, and to parents, teachers and the whole Bidar University household.

He wished the graduates success and happiness and said their work would bring pride to Bidar, Karnataka and India. Retired Justice Dr. Krishna S Dixit, Vice Chancellor Prof. B S Biradar and other dignitaries attended.
