Door-to-door survey to verify deleted voters
Guntur: District collector and district election officer CM Sai Kanth Varma directed officials to conduct a fresh house to house survey to verify the details of voters whose names were deleted from the electoral rolls in the Special Intensive Revision conducted recently.
He said the aim of a three-day special drive is to ensure that every eligible voter is enrolled in the electoral rolls.
He instructed the officials to conduct a special drive from Friday and Saturday. He said as part of the drive, Booth Level Officers should visit households and carry the lists of deleted voters relating to the polling stations within their jurisdiction. He conducted a video conference with the officials from the Collectorate here on Thursday.
He said they should reverify the status of such voters and if any name was found to have been deleted inadvertently, provide an opportunity to the voter to submit Form-6 for enrolment to restore their vote.
He further said that after completing the necessary verification, the names of such eligible voters should be restored to the electoral roll under the continuous updation process, he said.
