Hyderabad: Accusing the government of neglecting his constituency, Congress MLA from Jadcherla Anirudh Reddy has threatened to launch an indefinite hunger strike along with 30,000 people to press for the development of his area.

Questioning the allocation of bills to constituencies represented by Ministers while other constituencies are allegedly being neglected, he asked what would happen to the remaining MLAs and their constituencies.

Speaking at a media conference in Jadcherla on Monday, Anirudh Reddy said, “In Nagarkurnool, bills worth Rs 5 crore were released following the death of a contractor. Will bills be released for Jadcherla only if I die? If that is the case, I am ready to sacrifice my life for the development of my constituency,” he said.

The ruling Congress MLA asserted that the government could sustain itself only if all constituencies received equal attention and development. He called for a united struggle across party lines to secure development funds and address the constituency’s needs.

“We must fight together to secure canals and irrigation water for Jadcherla. I am ready to undertake any struggle to protect the interests of farmers in the constituency,” he said.
