Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy convened a special cabinet meeting on El Nino on Thursday. The meeting would finalise the action plan to tide over the crisis. Meanwhile, at a high level meeting, the Chief Minister expressed anger at officials on the frequent power outages in various parts of the state. The Chief Minister sought an immediate explanation for not improving the situation despite repeated instructions to ensure a smooth power supply.
The CM was also serious on officials for failing to increase power generation, even though there is a looming risk of a power shortage in the near future. He questioned why the Yadadri plant was not generating power to its full capacity, despite arrangements made for coal linkages from Naini and Mahanadi to prevent coal shortages. Revanth Reddy warned that no one would be spared if the officials acted negligently. The CM also took a serious view of the electricity department officials for ignoring repeated warnings to supply the necessary power to protect crops.
