CM Revanth Reddy highlights Telangana’s progress at Praja Palana Dinotsavam event

Telangana has celebrated Praja Palana Dinotsavam (People's Governance Day) in great pomp and grandeur at the Public Gardens here recently. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unfurled the National Flag and paid tribute to those who contributed to the state's rights and self-respect.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the region had given birth to warriors who questioned the autocracy of kings and kings who ruled the state in their own way. It was Hyderabad which was known to the world as the capital of the Nizams. But the Razakars who followed the Nizam had exploited the masses and made them slaves for years.

Hyderabad was merged with the Indian Union by force of arms on 17-9-1948, which came to be known as the 'Praja Palana Dinotsavam Day'.

'This day has come to existence when people's rights are protected under the Telangana government,' said the CM. He called upon the people to make the state free from all kinds of exploitation and announced several welfare schemes for the upliftment of the people to make Telangana self-reliant.

Referring to the state's economy, he said about 10 core people would be turned into 'crorepatis'. The per capita income of Telangana has reached Rs 4,18,931. He said crop loan waiver worth Rs 2 lakh has benefited more than 25 lakh families, while over Rs 36,000 crore has been credited to the farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

In the last 32 months, about Rs 1.72 lakh crore has been spent on agriculture and farmers' welfare in the state, he added.

He announced that over 53 lakh families are receiving free electricity of up to 200 units, and 43 lakh families are being supplied cooking gas cylinders at just ₹500. Bills proposing 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) have been sent to the President for approval.

Revanth Reddy also highlighted that SC categorisation has been undertaken for the first time in India. He shared plans for 'Young India Integrated Residential Schools' in every constituency and the establishment of 'Young India Skills University' for youth. The government has prepared proposals for a 122.9 km metro expansion costing ₹38,595 crore, and the Musi River rejuvenation project covering 55 km is underway.

Stressing Telangana’s bright future, the CM announced plans to transform the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047, increasing its share of the national GDP to 10%. He revealed the upcoming construction of 'Bharat Future City' spanning 30,000 acres, with the master plan to be unveiled at the 'Invest Telangana Global Summit-2026' in December.

Revanth Reddy concluded by emphasising the importance of remembering history while building a modern Telangana, stating, “We will not forget history, nor will we remain stuck in the past; let us build a modern Telangana with a spirit of struggle.”
