TPCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has prepared a detailed report on the reported Delhi hotel dispute between Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha and Jukkal MLA Thota Lakshmikantha Rao, forwarding it to the Congress High Command.
The report highlights the dispute alongside the failure of both leaders to attend a scheduled meeting at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday despite being summoned to present their versions of the incident.
The TPCC chief had planned separate meetings with the Minister and the MLA to ascertain the facts behind the altercation. However, Damodar Raja Narasimha, who initially indicated willingness to attend, informed the party at the last minute that he would not appear, leading to the cancellation of the MLA's session.
Mahesh Kumar Goud expressed strong displeasure over their absence and failure to respond to party summons. Meanwhile, Damodar Raja Narasimha, a permanent invitee to the Congress Working Committee, indicated he would speak directly with the party High Command rather than appear before the state chief.
The dispute reportedly arose over the MLA's alleged involvement in the political affairs of the Minister's home district, particularly supporting a factional candidate for the Sangareddy District Congress Committee president post.
According to sources close to the MLA, when Thota Lakshmikantha Rao approached the Minister at a Delhi hotel during the recent Chalo Delhi rally at Ramlila Maidan, the Minister allegedly used abusive language and issued threats, creating a major talking point in political circles.
The Delhi hotel episode is not the only internal party issue being escalated. Mahesh Kumar Goud also sent a report to the High Command regarding remarks made by Jadcherla MLA Janampally Anirudh Reddy, while bringing issues involving Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy and developments in Peddapalli to leadership notice.
The TPCC chief plans to compile a comprehensive report on various factional disputes and organizational issues across Telangana after consulting leaders from all sides, addressing growing concerns over public disagreements impacting party discipline and unity.
