Basheerbagh: The Progressive Youth League on Monday lodged a complaint to City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar seeking to take steps as per law against the vulgarity being portrayed in films on youngsters, citing the example of 'Degree College' and 'Educhepala Katha.'

The complaint stated that the films contained scenes that were found to cause inconvenience to family audiences. It alleged that lakh of rupees are being spent on the screening of trailers of the two films on YouTube.

According to the complaint, there seemed to be no control on release of such trailers and that they were mainly intended to attract youngsters, besides making money. The league alleged that such films were inciting youth in a wrong way. The PYL leaders demanded steps to stop screening of such films and action against the directors.
