Hyderabad: The voters in the state who have failed to submit their SIR forms can apply for the vote through Form 6 afresh but giving it with a declaration specifying the reasons for failing to submit and also should submit one of the 12 documents prescribed by the Election Commission of India.
According to the officials in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), there are over 10 per cent voters who could not submit their enumeration forms back to the BLOs. Such voters can apply for the vote by filling up the Form 6. However, these voters will have to submit a declaration form specifying the reasons for not submitting the forms to the BLOs.
A senior official said that the best procedure was to fill the Form 6 application online. Along with this form, a declaration form will have to be filled. For applications during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, the voters will have to submit one of the 12 documents specified by the Election Commission of India.
In case of application outside the SIR exercise, the voter needs only three things which include passport size photo, Aadhaar copy and electricity bill for address. The persons who are residing outside India will have to fill Form 6A to get a vote. The application can be done on ECI website http://voters.eci.gov.in.
The official said if the voter registers after the SIR exercise that is after publication of final rolls, routine application through Form 6 can be made. -
The documents which are required during the SIR exercise include any Identity card/Pension Payment Order issued to a regular employee/pensioner of any Central Govt/State Govt/PSU, any Identity Card/Certificate/Document issued in India by the Government/ local authorities/Banks/Post Office/LIC/PSUs prior to 01.07.1987, birth certificate issued by the competent authority, passport, matriculation/educational boards/Universities certificate issued by recognised, permanent residence certificate issued by the competent State authority, forest right certificate, OBC/SC/ST or any caste certificate issued by the Competent Authority, national Register of Citizens (wherever it exists), family register, prepared by State/Local authorities, any land/house allotment certificate by the Government and for Aadhaar, the Commission’s directions issued vide letter No 23/2025-ERS/Vol II dated 09.09.2025 would apply.
