DJ rule violations: FIRs against 27 Ganesh pandal organisers
Hyderabad: Charminar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Kiran Khare said police have registered FIRs against organisers of 27 Ganesh mandapams for allegedly violating restrictions on the use of DJ sound systems during Ganesh processions.
Speaking at a counselling session for Ganesh Utsav organisers at the Purani Haveli Kotwal Office, the DCP said 51 organisers were counselled over violations of police guidelines. Police also seized 68 sound boxes and 21 amplifiers used allegedly in violation of the restrictions.
Kiran Khare said the action was taken based on CCTV footage, drone surveillance and other technical evidence.
He warned organisers to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the police for religious processions.
The DCP said the police would take strict action against anyone violating rules during religious festivals, irrespective of their religion. He stressed that the use of prohibited DJ sound systems during processions would not be tolerated.
Police urged Ganesh Utsav organisers to cooperate with the authorities and ensure that future processions are conducted peacefully and in accordance with the prescribed rules.
