Double whammy for Endowment department outsourcing employees
Hyderabad: Outsourcing employees working in the Endowments Department are experiencing severe financial distress due to administrative delays in issuing annual continuation orders, resulting in unpaid salaries for the past two months. According to department sources, contract and outsourcing personnel typically receive their monthly remuneration after the government issues continuation orders every April, enabling the Pay and Accounts Department to clear salary dispatches. However, because the state administration has failed to issue these mandatory extension orders this year, the Treasury has withheld salary disbursements, creating prolonged financial hardship for the affected workforce.
It is understood that the official file concerning continuation orders remains pending with the Finance Department. This procedural order applies uniformly to contract and outsourcing personnel across all state government departments. Affected workers lamented that despite being required to deliver extended duties, they endure chronic delays in receiving legitimate monthly earnings. Contractual staff are currently awaiting pending salaries for the months of August and September.
With the festive season approaching and household expenses escalating rapidly, aggrieved employees demanded that the state government permanently eliminate the administrative hurdle of annual continuation orders to ensure timely salary disbursements every month. The workforce urged senior officials to issue an immediate Government Order releasing withheld salaries for August and September, thereby providing immediate relief to struggling families before upcoming major festivals.
