GHMC revises KBR Park flyover plans, mulls for permanent one-way traffic
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will make the one-way traffic system around KBR Park permanent and revise its flyover plans, a move expected to save ₹400 crore.
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan said the one-way system and free-left turns had improved traffic flow. Under the revised plan, a flyover will run from Jubilee Checkpost to Nagarjuna Circle, while a steel flyover is being built between Nagarjuna Circle and the Checkpost. The latter is expected to be completed within a year.
The corporation will build flyovers and underpasses according to need, Karnan said. Work is under way, although the plans were adjusted following court cases. The changes are intended to ease congestion around the park.
