Delay aimed at ensuring justice for dedicated party workers: TPCC chief

TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has indicated that appointments to nominated posts in various corporations are likely to be announced by Dasara, stating that the delay is intended to ensure justice for party leaders and workers who have worked hard for the Congress.
It may be recalled that the TPCC chief had earlier assured that the appointments would be completed in September. However, the process was delayed amid Congress-led protests in Delhi against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Speaking to the media during an informal interaction at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the party leadership was taking time to ensure that committed leaders and workers received due recognition for their contributions. He indicated that the list of nominated posts could be announced as a Dasara gift to party cadres.
The TPCC chief's remarks come amid expectations among Congress leaders and workers awaiting appointments to corporation chairperson and other nominated positions. The appointments are seen as an opportunity for the party to recognize the efforts of leaders who contributed to its activities and electoral campaigns.
Mahesh Kumar Goud also expressed confidence that the Congress would secure a strong majority in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
