Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday dismissed Union Home Minister Amit Shah's allegations regarding an alleged RR Tax in Telangana as baseless and nonsensical. He challenged the BJP leadership to explain what the central government had delivered to Telangana instead of making inflammatory political accusations during public meetings. In an official statement, B Mahesh Kumar Goud questioned the genuine purpose of Amit Shah's Save Democracy campaign and Prajaswamya Parirakshana Yatra in Hyderabad when critical assurances guaranteed to Telangana during state bifurcation remained completely unfulfilled. He stated that citizens demanded clear answers regarding their rightful share of central funds, industrial development, employment generation, and agricultural welfare rather than rhetorical political speeches.

He demanded that the Centre clarify how many bifurcation promises had been fulfilled, how much financial funding had been released to Telangana, and what concrete progress had been made concerning the Kazipet Railway Coach Factory and Bayyaram Steel Plant projects. He also sought administrative clarity on granting national project status to major state irrigation projects and releasing Telangana's due share of central taxes and developmental grants. The TPCC chief raised severe concerns over electoral roll irregularities and the arbitrary deletion of eligible voters' names during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision process. He stated that the Election Commission of India must ensure no eligible voter loses the fundamental right to vote, challenging the BJP to address the specific questions raised by the Congress party.

Accusing the BJP of remembering Telangana only during election cycles, B Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that the Congress administration was actively implementing progressive welfare initiatives for farmers, women, youth, and marginalized sections despite persistent central discrimination and delays in releasing statutory funds. He alleged that the BJP and BRS maintain a tacit political understanding, adding that the people of Telangana had witnessed the damaging consequences of a decade of BRS governance and would not be misled by political manoeuvres. He claimed that the BJP would neither form a government in Telangana nor retain its current eight Assembly seats in the next state elections.

B Mahesh Kumar Goud demanded that the BJP release a white paper detailing allocated funds, fulfilled promises, jobs created, and developmental measures executed. He asserted that Congress will continue defending democracy, protecting voting rights, and fighting for state interests.
