Rapido launches Ownly in Hyderabad with Jadal Biryani campaign
Food delivery app Rapido has launched its Ownly, in Hyderabad, its second city after Bengaluru. The company plans to expand the service to all metropolitan cities across India in the coming quarter, beginning in October.
Ownly is bringing its restaurant-first, zero-commission model to Hyderabad. Restaurants will not pay commission to the platform; customers will pay delivery fees. Rapido says the approach is intended to ease costs for restaurants and offer customers greater price transparency.
“Over the coming quarter, we plan to expand Ownly to all metros, building on the momentum from our first two cities,” co-founder Aravind Sanka told PTI. He said Hyderabad was a natural choice because of its strong food culture and Rapido’s existing presence and Captain network.
Launched in Bengaluru in March, Ownly has more than 25,000 restaurant partners there and handles around 50,000 orders a day, according to the company.
To mark its Hyderabad launch, Ownly has introduced the “Jadal Biryani Party” campaign. Customers ordering biryani from participating restaurants through the Ownly app or the Ownly option in the Rapido app during the campaign will be entered into a draw to win prizes, including tickets to a private screening of the film *Paradise*. The campaign also offers biryani at special prices.
