Hyderabad: The Enforcement Wing of Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential drugs (TG SAFE) officials conducted a special drive on restaurants in Core Urban Region wherein 20 establishments were inspected and found violations. Officials served notices to several restaurants for violations.
The officials found violations of presence of houseflies, cockroaches, rodents and rat feces, lack of water reports, pest control and health records of food handlers, presence of expired food articles and spoiled/contaminated vegetables which were discarded on spot, patchy, wet and untidy flooring, food handlers not maintaining proper hygiene and others.
The officials collected samples on suspicion of adulteration and served notices to several hotels asking them to rectify the lapses in respective restaurants.
