Alleges 27% of voters deleted in Telangana belong to Muslims, poor and adivasis

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged that 27 per cent of votes had been deleted in Telangana, claiming that secular-minded voters, Muslims, poor people and Adivasis were among those affected.
Speaking during an informal interaction with the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, accompanied by Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and AICC Professional Congress chairman Madhu Yashki, he raised concerns over the deletion of votes and alleged that the exercise had disproportionately affected vulnerable sections.
Referring to a similar issue in Musheerabad, Mahesh Kumar Goud said an FIR had also been registered in connection with the matter.
He criticised the BJP-led Central government, alleging that constitutional institutions were being undermined. He claimed that nearly 97 per cent of Enforcement Directorate (ED) cases were directed against industrialists associated with opposition parties.
The TPCC chief also questioned changes made to the collegium system for the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). Referring to Maharashtra, he questioned how election results could differ so significantly between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections held within a gap of three months. He also referred to electoral developments in West Bengal and Bihar while raising concerns over the electoral process.
Responding to remarks attributed to Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala regarding Kerala and the RSS, Mahesh Kumar Goud said he had not claimed that the Congress won because of the RSS and alleged that his remarks had been misquoted.
He further accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of seeking to remain in power indefinitely. He alleged that the BJP frequently raised the issue of foreigners whenever it faced political difficulties.
Mahesh Kumar Goud also criticised the Centre over its handling of relations with China, alleging that the BJP remained silent on Chinese encroachment into Indian territory. He questioned the benefits ordinary citizens had received during Modi’s tenure.
