Royal Gaja Vahanam procession held in Tirumala
Tirumala: On the sixth evening of the ongoing annual Navaratri Brahmotsavams at Tirumala, Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy blessed thousands of ecstatic devotees while riding the majestic Gaja Vahanam around the four Mada Streets on Saturday.
The grand vahana procession moved seamlessly amidst the resonant sounds of traditional temple musical instruments and Vedic chants. Processional elephants led the celestial parade, while various devotional troupes captivated pilgrims with vibrant Kolatam dances and soul-stirring bhajan performances, perfectly harmonized by the sacred recitations of the Jeeyangars’ Goshti. B
raving continuous rains, thousands of devout pilgrims packed the viewing galleries along the procession route to offer camphor harathis and seek the divine blessings of Lord Venkateswara. In Hindu iconography and Vaishnavite tradition, the elephant (Gaja) signifies majestic royalty, opulence, and supreme authority, serving as a powerful symbol of universal prosperity and divine protection.
