Hyderabad: Emphasising that the Income Tax department plays a key role in monitoring a nation’s revenue in terms of assessing taxes, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday called upon newly appointed employees of the Income Tax department to work collecting taxes by using the latest technology to serve poor people.
The Union Minister participated in the 20th Rozgar Mela organised by the Income Tax Department in Hyderabad for distributing appointment letters to recently selected employees.
The Union Minister distributed appointment letters to 360 newly selected candidates for various posts in different Central Government organisations. The Central Government organised the 20th Rozgar Mela at 45 locations across the country to distribute appointment letters to more than 51,000 candidates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the programme through video conferencing.
Addressing the gathering, Kishan Reddy called upon the newly appointed employees of the Income Tax department to play a key role in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a Viksit Bharat by 2047. The Union government has provided employment opportunities in government services to nearly 12.50 lakh youth across the country.
Highlighting an Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, semiconductors, cyber security, drone technology, 3D printing and green energy as sectors that have the potential to generate large-scale employment opportunities in the future, the Union Minister asked the newly appointed employees to utilise the cutting edge technology for smooth conduct of their regular work functioning at the offices.
Kishan Reddy said that India has immense opportunities in terms of skilled and talented human resources as well as startups. He urged the youth to utilise these opportunities to attract more investments and industries into the country and create greater employment opportunities by calling upon them to work towards the welfare of the poor and the development of the nation.
