Karimnagar: Alphores Educational Institutions Chairman and District Olympic Association patron Vutukuri Narender Reddy said that more sportspersons from Telangana should participate in yoga at the 2036 Olympics to be held in India and bring laurels to the State.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the 13th State-level Sub-Junior and Junior Boys and Girls Yoga Championship, organised by the Karimnagar District Yoga Association at Alphores e-Techno School in Kothapalli on Friday.

Narender Reddy said yoga, which is deeply rooted in Indian history and culture, offers numerous physical and mental benefits. He described yoga as a foundation for various sports practised across the world. Yoga helps overcome mental stress and disorders and contributes to physical fitness, enthusiasm and overall well-being, he said.

He called upon people of all age groups, from children to elders, to make yoga a part of their daily lives. He expressed happiness that the Alphores Educational Institutions had been chosen as the venue for the State-level championships.
