Karimnagar: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday called upon government employees to adopt a people-centric approach and ensure that poor people approaching the administration in distress receive timely assistance and a fair hearing.

Inaugurating the newly constructed Integrated District Offices Complex(Collectorate) in Karimnagar, built at a cost of Rs 51 crore, he said the facility should instill confidence among the people seeking government assistance. Officials should treat public grievances as they would those of their own family members and make every effort to resolve them, he said.

Revanth Reddy, along with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar and state Ministers and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and senior officials, inaugurated the complex and unveiled the Telangana Talli statue.

The Chief Minister laid foundation stones for three Telangana Public Schools at Rs 29.62 crore, Karimnagar Corporation development works worth Rs 840 crore under the Urban Challenge Fund, stormwater drainage works costing Rs 21.60 crore under KSCCL special grants and a multi-level car parking facility at Tower Circle at Rs 25 crore. He also inaugurated the Central Library built at Rs 5.70 crore, the integrated vegetable and non-vegetable market at Kashmiri Gadda at Rs 6.50 crore, and the Integrated Command Control Centre and DRF offices constructed at Rs 16.50 crore. Revanth Reddy later visited the Collector’s chamber and formally installed Collector Chitra Mishra in her chair amid Vedic chants and interfaith prayers. He also inspected the special chamber arranged for the district in-charge minister.

Addressing officials and public representatives, the Chief Minister said around 10.5 lakh permanent, contract and outsourcing employees were serving nearly four crore people in Telangana.

Their role was crucial in translating government decisions, schemes, funds and approvals into services for citizens, he said.

He said employees’ concerns relating to salaries, retirement benefits, promotions, transfers and health security cards were being addressed in phases and urged them to continue discharging their responsibilities towards the public.

Revanth Reddy said ideological differences should not come in the way of development and thanked Bandi Sanjay for his cooperation in Karimnagar’s progress. He announced that he would return to the district for a comprehensive review of development, welfare and irrigation projects.
