Devpt works delay will not be tolerated: Aruna

District DISHA Committee Chairperson and MP DK Aruna
Narayanpet: District DISHA Committee Chairperson and MP DK Aruna directed officials to expedite development works and ensure effective implementation of Central government welfare schemes in the district.
At the DISHA meeting on Saturday, attended by Collector CH Priyanka and senior officials, Aruna reviewed the progress of development works and implementation of Central government schemes. She expressed displeasure over officials failing to inform her in advance about inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies for works taken up with Central funds, calling for strict adherence to protocol.
Aruna directed officials to give priority to the construction of Anganwadi buildings, improve road connectivity to villages and take immediate steps to repair damaged roads. She reviewed drinking water supply, pipeline and water tank works and instructed officials to ensure that drinking water reaches every household. She also discussed measures to improve groundwater levels, promote alternative crops requiring less water and ensure uninterrupted power supply to farmers.
Reviewing reports of illegal sand transportation in Makthal and other areas, Aruna ordered strict action against those transporting sand beyond permitted quantities and directed officials to prevent its illegal movement to other states.
