Khammam: District Collector Divakara TS on Wednesday directed officials to intensify efforts to enroll every eligible graduate as a voter for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ MLC constituency.

Chairing a meeting with representatives of various political parties at the Collectorate, he discussed the enrolment of MLC voters, preparation of the electoral roll and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

The Collector said special enrolment drives should be conducted in degree, professional and postgraduate colleges across the district.

Divakar said 1,75,858 anomalies and no-mapping voters had been identified during the SIR process, of whom notices had been served on 1,69,802 persons and hearings completed for 1,36,208 voters. He directed officials to expedite disposal of 5,460 pending Form-6 applications, 1,172 Form-7 applications and 9,087 Form-8 applications.

The Collector said October 7 would be the last date for submission of objections in the SIR process, while the notice and disposal process would continue up to November 5. The final SIR list is scheduled to be published on November 9, he said.

Divakar said graduates have to enroll afresh as MLC voters for every election and urged all eligible graduates who had completed their graduation by October 31, 2023, to enroll themselves in the electoral roll, with November 1 being the qualifying date.

Eligible graduates can submit Form-18 along with proof of graduation at the concerned ERO or RDO offices or apply online, he said.

Only around 84,000 graduates had enrolled as MLC voters in Khammam district during the previous exercise, the Collector said, directing officials to set a target of enrolling at least two lakh graduates this time.
