Khammam: A doctor from Khammam was charred to death after the Volvo car he was travelling in hit a road divider and caught fire on the Suryapet-Khammam highway near Pillalamarri on Sunday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Dr Kasakurthi Jagadeesh, a neurosurgeon associated with Mamata Hospital in Khammam.
According to preliminary information, the car hit the divider near Pillalamarri, following which it caught fire. The doctor was trapped inside the vehicle and died in the blaze.
Police reached the spot and took up an investigation into the accident. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the crash are awaited.
