Khammam: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Silver Jubilee in politics, which is less than a month away, BJP national co-Incharge for Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and former MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has described Modi’s 25-year journey in public life as an extraordinary example of ‘Seva, Sankalp, sacrifice, discipline and unwavering devotion to Bharat.’

In an interview with The Hans India, Reddy said the milestone should not be viewed merely as a political achievement but as a reflection of a leader’s commitment to public service.

Excerpts.

Q: How do you assess Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life?

A: Twenty-five years in public office is a historic milestone, but for PM Modi it represents a journey of Seva, Sankalp, sacrifice, discipline, and devotion to Bharat. From his early years in public life to becoming the PM, his focus has remained service to the people and strengthening the nation. He has demonstrated that public life can be a means of serving society and building a stronger nation.

Q: What distinguishes his style of leadership?

A: His humility, simplicity, and ability to convert vision into action distinguish his leadership. For PM Modi, Seva is not limited to a programme or occasion. It is a way of life. His approach to governance has also emphasised delivery, accountability, and direct outreach to beneficiaries.

Q: What have been the major achievements in these 25 years?

A: There have been several transformative developments. Financial inclusion expanded significantly through Jan Dhan accounts, while Digital India and UPI created a new digital ecosystem for citizens, businesses and government services.

India’s Digital Public Infrastructure has gained international recognition. Digital transactions have grown rapidly, making financial services more accessible to ordinary citizens. At the same time, the country has focused on manufacturing, startups, semiconductors, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

Q: How has PM Modi’s leadership strengthened national security?

A: India has demonstrated that it will firmly protect its sovereignty and national interests. The emphasis on ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in defence has encouraged indigenous manufacturing and reduced dependence on imports. A strong nation requires a strong economy, capable armed forces, technological strength, and the confidence to protect its interests. The Modi-government has worked towards strengthening all these pillars.

Q: How do you view the government’s welfare approach?

A: PM Modi believes development must be inclusive. The objective is to ensure that the benefits of growth reach the poorest and most vulnerable sections. Financial inclusion, food security, housing, sanitation, cooking fuel, healthcare, and digital access have received sustained attention. The emphasis on direct delivery has helped connect beneficiaries with government programmes.

Q: What would be the best tribute to the PM on this occasion?

A: The best tribute is not merely to celebrate the milestone, but to adopt the spirit of Seva. Every BJP worker should take the message of service yo every booth, village, family, and beneficiary. PM Modi’s public journey teaches us that public life is not about power but responsibility and about building a stronger, self-reliant, and developed Bharat. Workers should understand ground reality concerns and communicate how government programmes are changing lives.

Q: What is your vision of PM Modi’s contribution to Viksit Bharat?

A: Viksit Bharat is not simply about becoming a larger economy. It means creating a strong, self-confident and technologically advanced India where infrastructure, education, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, national security and social welfare progress together. India has demonstrated its capabilities in digital infrastructure, technology, manufacturing and connectivity. The next challenge is to ensure that this momentum reaches every village and every section of society.
