Peddapalli: Allegations of encroachment on a valuable Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) land parcel in Peddapalli are raising questions over the company’s property protection measures. The disputed land, reportedly located near Vakilpalli Flats beside a church in Centenary Colony under the RG-III division, was allegedly occupied after compound walls were constructed overnight. Locals estimate the property’s value at around Rs 1 crore.
Residents questioned why fencing was provided to SCCL lands in remote areas while the prime parcel in the town allegedly remained unsecured.
They sought an inquiry into the alleged role or negligence of estate officials, noting the property’s proximity to the GM’s office and residential quarters. They urged SCCL authorities to verify records, secure the land and initiate action against anyone found responsible.
