Kurnool: A 27-year-old B.Ed graduate allegedly died by suicide after the man who had promised to marry her rejected the proposal after securing a government job, with the incident coming to light on Monday and making rounds on social media.
The deceased was identified as Manjula, daughter of Sridevi and Chinna Maddileti of Budhwarpet in Kurnool city. She had pursued her Class X and Intermediate education while staying at her grandmother’s house in Gonegandla.
According to family members, Manjula had been in a relationship with Krishnamurthy, who lived opposite her grandmother’s house, for nearly five years.
He had allegedly assured her that he would marry her and the two had travelled to several places together.
Manjula later completed her B.Ed and appeared for the DSC examination but did not qualify. Krishnamurthy recently secured a government teaching job and allegedly started distancing himself from her thereafter.
