MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy releasing a poster regarding Sri Rajarajeshwari temple Sharannavaratri Utsavams in Nellore on Saturday
Nellore: Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has directed officials to ensure the smooth conduction of the 11-day Sharannavaratri festivals at the Sri Rajarajeshwari temple, scheduled from October 11 to 20 in Nellore city.
In view of the large devotee turnout expected, the MLA conducted a preparatory meeting with the RDO and officials from various departments on Saturday to review arrangements.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA appealed to devotees and organizers to keep political activities away from the temple premises, stating that political flexes and banners should not be displayed. He noted that while he holds immense devotion toward the Goddess, encouraging political activities during a purely spiritual utsavam is inappropriate, adding that he will leave his MLA designation outside and enter as an ordinary devotee.
To ensure ordinary devotees face no inconvenience, he instructed the temple authorities and festival committee to allot VIP darshans strictly between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., and again from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. He directed officials to make necessary arrangements with complete freedom and responsibility.
TDP state official spokesperson Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, temple committee members, and coalition leaders participated in the meeting. Earlier, MLA Sridhar Reddy also released the festival poster at the city temple.
