MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy inaugurates DCCB branch in Varigonda

Nellore: Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy along with District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) Chairman Mettukuri Dhanunjaya Reddy inaugurated new DCCB branch at Varigonda in Sarvepalli constituency on Thursday.

MLA Somireddy said now farmers under Peduru, Thotapalligudur and Krishnapatnam Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) areas can now avail the banking services locally, adding that it will provide services to general public also. All types of loans, besides locker facilities, would be available at the branch.

He recalled that he was elected as the first president of Nellore DCCB and expressed happiness to inaugurate a new branch. He said former CM NT Rama Rao deserved the credit for bringing major changes in cooperative sector.

Chairman Dhanunjaya Reddy said Nellore DCCB was serving farmers with a Rs 3,000-crore turnover, providing services to 62 lakh farmers. Cooperative banks were now offering services to farmers on par with nationalised banks, he added.

Earlier, cooperative banks were largely limited to crop loans and long-term loans, but now they are giving loans to people of all sections, Dhanunjaya Reddy said. He urged public to make full use of the services offered by cooperative banks.

Vijaya Dairy Director Koduru Srinivasulu Reddy, PACS chairpersons Sannareddy Suresh Reddy and officials were present.
