New Delhi: A 15-year-old boy died after cement plaster from the ceiling of a room fell on him while he was asleep with his twin brother in northeast Delhiās Welcome area on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place at around 5 am near Qabristan Pulia in Welcome, they said. Police received information about the incident at around 7 am. The boy was shifted by his family members to Kailash Deepak Hospital in Anand Vihar, where doctors declared him brought dead. His twin brother also sustained injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment at a local nursing home in Welcome, police said. The body was subsequently shifted to GTB Hospital for post-mortem examination.
During a preliminary inquiry, police found that the two brothers were asleep in the room when the cement plaster suddenly fell, trapping them under the debris. Police also recovered five live bullets from the deceased.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident and the recovery of the cartridges, police said.
