The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday claimed that the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Delhi Assembly may inspect the 6 Flagstaff Road bungalow, the ex-residence of former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, as it called for the same scrutiny of the prime minister’s residence.

Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, alleged that the BJP has been lying about the opulence of the house and claimed that the inspection would, at last, dispel that notion.

“BJP has continuously spread lies about the former CM’s residence at Flagstaff road. They said there is a swimming pool, a commode made out of gold, liquor bar and many other lies. I am happy that Delhi Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee has decided to conduct an inspection of the house. On September 14, everything will be clear,” Atishi said in a video message.

“The whole country will see the Prime Minister’s residence built for crores of rupees,” she said, asking for an inspection of Narendra Modi’s residence too. Kejriwal, the AAP national convener, lived in the bungalow on Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines, while serving as the chief minister.

During the 2025 Delhi election, the Bharatiya Janata Party made the renovation work at the property a major campaign issue, alleging inordinate expenses on the ‘Sheeshmahal’, as it called the house.

After Kejriwal resigned and vacated the residence, the Public Works Department (PWD) conducted a detailed audit of the interiors. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s government has plans to turn the property into a guest house and hand over its management to private hospitality companies.
