CJP claims cops denied Dipke a chance to talk to ‘anxious’ parents; Delhi Police release video ‘evidence’
In Short
The CJP’s accusation and Delhi Police’s rebuttal come on the back of CJP’s claims that Abhijit Dipke was denied an opportunity to speak to his 'anxious' parents, despite the passing away of his grandmother.

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Sunday levelled serious allegations against the Delhi Police, accusing it of being “insensitive and inhuman” over the demise of Abhijeet Dipke’s grandmother, following which the latter has presented a “video evidence” refuting the outfit’s charge.
The CJP’s accusation and Delhi Police’s rebuttal come on the back of CJP’s claims that Abhijit Dipke was denied an opportunity to speak to his 'anxious' parents, despite the passing away of his grandmother.
Delhi Police, denying the CJP’s claims, said that the information regarding the demise of Abhijeet’s grandmother was promptly conveyed to him with “due sensitivity”, but he declined to avail the arrangements for participating in the funeral.
Addressing the press, DCP Neha Yadav informed that as soon as the Delhi Police received the news of the death of Abhijit Dipke's grandmother, officers went to convey the sad news to him.
“He was asked with sensitivity what kind of assistance he required—such as a flight, a phone call, or anything else. He was repeatedly asked if he wished to speak to his parents, but he refused. He was even given time to consider the matter and was asked again later,” she said.
The Delhi Police also presented a video of some personnel interacting with the CJP founder Abhijit Dipke and offering him assistance.
Earlier, the CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka in a presser on Sunday claimed, "Even when Dipke was informed about the unfortunate news, Delhi Police showed an extremely inhuman face. They tried to make the event into a spectacle by showing up with cameras and microphones."
"Dipke kept pleading to speak to his cousin since his parents are heart patients and get anxious easily, but Delhi Police did not relent," he claimed.
Notably, by the time Abhijit Dipke’s grandmother passed away in Mumbai, he had left the city for Delhi to participate in an anti-CEC protest in the capital. He was detained at the Delhi airport on Saturday by the Delhi Police.
The Delhi Police, while releasing the video of its interaction with Abhijit Dipke, offering to make necessary arrangements for his travel to attend his grandmother’s funeral, maintains that this fact was misrepresented and twisted during CJP's press conference.
