Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has alleged that he is under surveillance and claimed that Delhi Police could detain him ahead of the party's planned Tiranga march on Friday.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Dipke said vehicles without number plates had been following him and alleged that Intelligence Bureau (IB) personnel were seeking information from the watchman outside his residence. He expressed apprehension that he could be detained on Thursday night or Friday morning.

Dipke said he was prepared to go to jail for waving the national flag and challenged the authorities to justify treating the act as a crime.

“We will peacefully go and wave the Tiranga. As citizens of this country, if you consider this a crime, then you are the biggest traitor,” he said, adding that he was ready to face imprisonment for the act.

CJP Plans Tiranga March Despite Central Park Closure

The CJP has urged supporters and members of the public to assemble at Central Park in Connaught Place on Friday to wave the national flag. The proposed march is part of the party's campaign demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

However, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) announced on Thursday that Central Park would remain closed on October 16 and 17.

Questioning the decision, Dipke asked whether the authorities would shut down every location if the party organised similar flag-waving events at multiple places.

He also questioned whether a political rally would be cancelled if people decided to wave the national flag at the venue.

“Declare officially that you will not wave the Tiranga. Then you are a traitor,” Dipke said, criticising the restrictions on the planned gathering.

Dipke Alleges Pressure on CJP Members

The CJP founder reiterated his concerns about possible police action, saying he would not be intimidated by the prospect of detention.

He also referred to the arrests of party members Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, alleging that people were being jailed for waving the national flag.

Dipke questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the restrictions and asked why the authorities appeared to be opposing the display of the national flag.

He further alleged that the situation amounted to an undeclared emergency, claiming that the government was reluctant to formally announce one because it could damage the Prime Minister's public image.

CJP Demands Gyanesh Kumar's Removal

Clarifying the party's position, Dipke said the CJP was seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and his replacement through an independent and impartial process. He maintained that the demand was not aimed at changing the government.

“We are just saying remove Gyanesh Kumar and appoint someone else. We are not saying we want to change the regime,” he said.

Dipke also alleged that Kumar was not listening to the other Election Commissioners and questioned whether demanding his removal could be considered a crime.

The planned Tiranga march comes amid continuing protests over the SIR exercise, with Opposition parties raising concerns about alleged irregularities and the deletion of names from electoral rolls.

Always love to raise the unraised matter. In a world of worries, I am always ready to come over my comfort zone and taking the step ahead of spreading awareness.
