Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar has repeatedly stressed people-friendly policing and shown zero tolerance for misconduct by the men in khaki.
In his message to the force at the time of assuming office, the Commissioner gave Delhi Police personnel the mantra "People First. Policing with Trust. Delhi Safer Together."
He said, “Serving people, earning trust, ensuring safety and security, Delhi Police are committed to transparent, impartial and professional policing that places citizens at the centre of public service. Integrity, accessibility, responsiveness and accountability are the hallmarks of police service.”
“With active community partnership and constructive engagement, Delhi Police endeavour towards a safer, secure and inclusive Delhi where every citizen feels protected, respected and heard,” he said.
Earlier on Saturday, the Delhi Police conducted their weekly Thana Divas–Jansunwai programme across police stations in all 15 police districts and resolved 2,458 public complaints.
The initiative provided citizens with a direct platform to raise complaints, share concerns and offer suggestions before senior police officers. The grievances received during the hearings were examined, and appropriate instructions were issued to ensure timely redressal, a statement said.
Launched in June 2026 on the directions of Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Thana Divas–Jansunwai initiative allows citizens to meet police officers and present their grievances every Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
