Pushkaram works get top priority in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: Nizamabad Collector Bhavesh Mishra said arrangements for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaram are being accorded top priority in the district. Development works to improve facilities for pilgrims at Kandakurti and Yancha have already commenced. The Collector spoke during a video conference chaired by Endowments Department Principal Secretary Sailaja Ramaiyer and Commissioner Hanumantha Rao in Hyderabad on Saturday to review Pushkaram preparations with district collectors.
Mishra said foundation stones had been laid for works being taken up by the Endowments, Irrigation, Panchayat Raj, and Roads and Buildings departments at Kandakurti and Yancha. He said the new ghat at Kandakurti would be taken up after the SRSP water level recedes from the present 46 TMC to around 20–25 TMC.
He said an action plan was in place to complete works by the end of March, with emphasis on roads, ghats, parking and emergency exits at Kandakurti, Yancha, Thungini, Pochampad and Tadpakal.
