Nizamabad: A special court dealing with SC/ST cases in Nizamabad has sentenced seven persons to varying terms of imprisonment and imposed fines in connection with an attempt-to-murder and SC/ST Atrocities case registered in 2022. Special Judge S. Narayana pronounced the judgment after completion of the trial in Crime No. 116/2022 of Nizamabad Rural Police Station, which was tried as Spl.SC.No.50/2022.
The court sentenced Lacholla Nadipi Sailu (A1), Lacholla Nadipi Pedda Sailu (A3) and Lacholla Ganesh (A4), all residents of Akula Kondur village, to five years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 each.
Mettu Pedda Mutthenna (A5), former sarpanch Mettu Ashok (A6), and Roddolla Ravi (A7) were sentenced to two years of simple imprisonment and fined Rs 1,000 each.
The case was registered based on a complaint by Mekala Laxman following an incident at Akula Kondur in 2022. The court found all seven accused guilty after examining the evidence presented during the trial.
