Rajamahendravaram: Megastar Chiranjeevi has appreciated the progress being made by Andhra Pradesh in various sectors, including road infrastructure, local governance and healthcare, and expressed hope that development would continue to benefit all sections of society. He was speaking after inaugurating a healthcare centre established jointly by GSL Hospitals and Surya Charitable Trust at Kapileswarapuram in East Godavari district on Sunday.
Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, GSL Medical College chairman Ganni Bhaskara Rao, Surya Charitable Trust founder GVB Chowdary, Mandapeta MLA Vegulla Jogeswara Rao and several public representatives attended the programme.
Recalling his visit to Andhra Pradesh after several years, Chiranjeevi said he had enquired about the changes taking place in the State while travelling to Kapileswarapuram. He was informed that significant improvements had been made, particularly in road infrastructure.
He also referred to the progress achieved by panchayats, stating that their rankings had improved considerably from the 23rd to 25th positions in the past to the top position nationally. He expressed optimism about further improvements in the healthcare sector under the leadership of Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav. He urged women to undergo regular screening for breast and cervical cancers, stressing that awareness and periodic health check-ups were essential. He said he made it a point to ensure that his wife, mother and sisters underwent cancer screening, emphasising the importance of taking preventive measures before symptoms appeared.
