Tirumala: Elaborate security and traffic arrangements are being made for Srivari Navaratri Brahmotsavams at Tirumala from October 12 to 20, with 2,800 police personnel deployed to manage crowds and ensure the safety of devotees. Tirupati District SP L Subba Rayudu reviewed the arrangements with police officers at the Tirumala Police Control Room and issued instructions on staff deployment, crowd management, traffic regulation and emergency preparedness. He directed officials to remain alert and ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during the festival.

Special security measures will be implemented for Garuda Seva on October 16, Pushpaka Vimanam on October 17, Swarna Ratham on October 19 and Chakrasnanam on October 20.

Police personnel will monitor the four Mada streets, galleries, ghat roads, parking areas and main access routes. Barricades, signboards and traffic diversions will be arranged wherever necessary to regulate the movement of devotees.

The SP stressed the need for effective vehicle and parking management in Tirumala and Tirupati, particularly during Garuda Seva. Holding points in Tirupati will be used as required, with coordination among TTD, APSRTC, the Transport Department and other concerned agencies.

A dedicated police control room system, including a main control room and sub-control rooms, will monitor ground-level developments in real time. A social media monitoring unit and special joint action teams will also be deployed to address emerging issues and respond quickly to emergencies.

CCTV cameras, body-worn cameras and drones will be used to monitor crowd and traffic conditions. Police will also focus on tracing missing persons, preventing crime, cybersecurity and responding to medical emergencies, fires and other incidents.

To assist pilgrims, police personnel wearing ‘May I Help You’ T-shirts will be available across Tirumala under the supervision of the Tirumala One Town and Two Town police. They will guide devotees on darshan routes, queue lines, accommodation and other facilities and help resolve their concerns.

The SP said the main objective was to provide devotees with a safe and peaceful darshan. He instructed police personnel to coordinate with other departments, remain vigilant and treat pilgrims courteously. He also appealed to devotees to follow police instructions and traffic rules and make use of the assistance services available.
