Bhumi puja performed for CC road in Tirupati
Tirupati: The Tirupati Municipal Corporation will take up infrastructure works worth Rs 106 crore under Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), said MLA Arani Srinivasulu. The works will focus on improving roads, drainage, parks, streetlights and road dividers across the city.
The MLA and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Jayakrishna performed bhumi puja for a cement-concrete road in Srinivasa Nagar in Gollavanigunta area here on Monday.
MLA Srinivasulu said the State government was giving priority to the development of municipal corporations. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan had supported the allocation of Rs 106 crore for Tirupati’s development and beautification, he added.
Commissioner Jayakrishna said the government had decided to invest more than Rs 1,000 crore in infrastructure across the State’s municipal corporations and municipalities. Tirupati’s Rs 106-crore allocation forms part of that programme, he said. The planned improvements would help address local infrastructure needs and improve the city’s appearance, he said, adding that works would be completed at the earliest.
SAP chairman Ravi Naidu, Gangamma temple chairman Mahesh Yadav and others were present.
