Preserve Tirumala traditions for future generations: CM Chandrababu Naidu

Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu prayed to Lord Venkateswara to bless the state with prosperity and help India become a developed nation, with Andhra Pradesh playing a leading role in the country’s progress.

After having darshan of Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple on Tuesday, Naidu spoke at the Ranganayakula Mandapam and said he also prayed for the well-being of people across the country. He sought the Lord’s blessings for happiness, self-confidence and courage for every person and prayed that people be protected during difficult times and guided towards progress.

Naidu said Tirumala has a unique sense of discipline that is not seen anywhere else. He appreciated the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) management for its functioning and said it was setting an example for the country in temple administration.

“There is a unique sense of discipline in Tirumala that cannot be seen anywhere else. The TTD management is also working very well and is setting an example for the country in how a temple should be managed in every aspect. We have to carry this spirit forward,” he said.

The Chief Minister said Hindus from across India and different parts of the world wish to visit Tirumala at least once to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara and spend time in His presence. The TTD Trust Board and staff should ensure that devotees have a smooth and hassle-free darshan.

Naidu stressed the need to preserve Tirumala’s traditions and heritage and pass them on to future generations. “It is our responsibility to pass this tradition on to future generations. This heritage in its entirety should be preserved and ensure that it is carried forward to the generations to come,” he said.

Earlier, Naidu participated in the traditional ceremony of presenting silk robes to Lord Venkateswara in connection with the annual Brahmotsavams. Dressed in traditional attire, he began the ceremony at the Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple, where priests performed customary rituals and placed the silk robes on a silver plate on his head.

Accompanied by his wife Bhuvaneswari, son and Minister Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmani, priests and officials, Naidu carried the sacred vastrams through the Mahadwaram in a procession accompanied by Vedic chants and traditional music. He later handed them over to the chief priest inside the sanctum sanctorum.

After darshan, TTD chairman B R Naidu presented him with Theertha Prasadam and a Kalamkari portrait of Lord Venkateswara at the Ranganayakula Mandapam. The Chief Minister also released the TTD’s 2027 calendars, diaries and table calendars.

Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, TTD Executive Officer M Ravichandra, Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, TTD board members and other officials were present. Later, Naidu also participated in the Pedda Sesha Vahana Seva, the first Vahana Seva of the nine-day Brahmotsavams. Naidu stayed overnight at the guest house. On Wednesday, he is scheduled to inaugurate the pilgrim experience centre at the 17th compartment of Vaikuntam Queue Complex-I, Reliance-donated e-buses at Gogarbham Dam Circle and the modernised SV Museum. He will also review TTD activities before leaving for Amaravati.
