Reel contest to showcase Rayalaseema’s horticulture potential

Tirupati: A reel and video contest is being organised for social media influencers, video makers, students and others interested in promoting the ‘Global Horticulture Hub – Rayalaseema Rising – Rayalaseema Vijayibhava’ initiative.

District Collector Dr S Venkateswar said that the initiative aims to develop Rayalaseema, Prakasam and Markapuram regions as a global horticulture hub.

The Collector called on participants to create creative and innovative videos explaining the vision and development plans to the public.

Participants can focus on a district or highlight any one horticulture product as the main theme of their video. The videos should clearly present the potential and development of the region’s horticulture sector.

Reels or videos should be between 60 and 90 seconds long. Participants have to post their entries on various social media platforms till noon on September 30.

The best five videos will be selected and screened at a major programme to be held in Madanapalle on October 2 during Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit. The videos will be screened before an estimated 50,000 people attending the programme.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are also expected to watch the selected videos, the Collector said. The winners will be felicitated by prominent personalities.

The organisers will finalise the winners by September 30 and inform them on October 1, the Collector said.
