Balavardhana Rao new Vijaya Dairy chairman

Vijayawada: Former Gannavaram MLA Dr Dasari Venkata Balavardhana Rao was unanimously elected chairman of the Krishna District Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union Limited, popularly known as Vijaya Dairy, at a board meeting held at the Milk Project in Chittinagar here on Tuesday.

Dr Balavardhana Rao, who had been serving as a senior board member of the union, was elected following the resignation of chairman Chalasani Anjaneyulu. The board meeting was convened with a single agenda — the election of a new chairman.

Along with Dr Dasari, 13 members attended the meeting. The board members unanimously supported his candidature and elected him to the post. Managing Director Kolli Eswara Rao and other union officials attended the meeting. Directors Vemuri Sai, Arja Nagesh, Babu Rao and others felicitated the newly elected chairman.

Speaking at a press conference organised after his election, Dr Balavardhana Rao expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh, district ministers Kollu Ravindra and Kolusu Parthasarathy, local public representatives and the members of the Krishna Milk Union board for giving him the opportunity to serve as chairman.
