APRSA and APJAC Amaravati leaders felicitate Bopparaju Venkateswarlu and Chebrolu Krishnamurthy on their re-election as APRSA president and general secretary, respectively, in Vijayawada on Sunday
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Revenue Services Association (APRSA) president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu was unanimously re-elected for a sixth consecutive term at the 18th State Council meeting held at Revenue Bhavan in Vijayawada on Sunday. The association conducted elections to its State executive committee for the 2026-29 term.
Chebrolu Krishnamurthy was unanimously elected general secretary for a third term. Gottapu Sriramurthy was elected associate president and RN Dhivakar as treasurer. Another 26 members were unanimously elected to various positions, including vice-presidents, organising secretaries and state secretaries.
On the occasion, APRSA leaders and Revenue employees felicitated the newly elected president and general secretary.
Speaking after the election, Bopparaju Venkateswarlu and Krishnamurthy said the new team would work responsibly to protect the dignity of the Revenue Department and bring a good name to the government. They said resolving the service and other legitimate issues of Revenue employees would remain a major priority.
They further said the recent delegation of powers relating to additions and deletions from the prohibited properties list under Section 22-A and issues concerning dotted lands to Revenue Divisional Officers and Tahsildars should be implemented transparently and strictly in accordance with rules. They called upon Revenue officials, particularly Tahsildars, to use the opportunity responsibly and ensure speedy resolution of land-related issues while earning public confidence. They urged the government to promote eligible Grade-II VROs to vacant Grade-I VRO posts and provide promotions to eligible Grade-I VROs as Senior Assistants according to their quota. They also sought an increase in the monthly salary of Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) to Rs 21,000.
They said the association had secured government orders to observe June 20 as Revenue Day and facilitated several promotions for Revenue employees. These included promotions for 58 Special Grade Deputy Collectors, approval of seven Deputy Tahsildar panels, around 250 Deputy Collector promotions between 2022 and 2025-26, ad hoc promotions for 116 officials as Deputy Collectors and promotions for 296 Deputy Tahsildars as Tahsildars.
