Vijayawada: Engineers play a pivotal role in nation-building, technological advancement and societal progress, said Dr Pulala Chandrashekhar, Vice-Chancellor of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, and Registrar Sai Sudheer on the occasion of Engineers’ Day.

The university observed Engineers’ Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya, one of India’s most distinguished engineers and statesmen. Dr Chandrashekhar and Sai Sudheer paid tributes to Sir Visvesvaraya and recalled his remarkable contributions to engineering and nation-building. Dr Chandrashekhar said Visvesvaraya’s vision, discipline, technical excellence and commitment to public service continued to inspire generations of engineers. Through creativity, expertise and innovative thinking, engineers were making significant contributions to improving the quality of life and addressing the evolving needs of society, he said.

Registrar Sai Sudheer said Sir Visvesvaraya’s contribution to the development of modern India remained an enduring source of inspiration. His dedication, professional excellence and engineering acumen demonstrated how technical knowledge could be effectively applied for public welfare and national development, he said.

The Vice-Chancellor and Registrar called upon engineers to draw inspiration from the life and work of Sir Visvesvaraya and continue to use their knowledge and expertise for public welfare, sustainable development and nation-building.
