Vijayawada: Department of Physics of Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, Deemed to be University, organised a guest lecture on ‘The Operating System of the Universe – Translating Quantum Mechanics into Code’ under the aegis of Sigma Physics Club at University campus at Kanuru near Vijayawada on Saturday.

The programme was aimed at introducing first-year computer branch students to fundamentals of quantum computing and its emerging applications in modern technological world.

Dr Dadamiah PMD of Vardhaman Engineering College, Hyderabad, resource person, explained fundamental differences between classical mechanics and quantum mechanics and highlighted how principles of quantum mechanics form the basis of emerging quantum technologies.

He also explained transition from classical computing to quantum computing and discussed the growing significance and potential applications of quantum computing.

Later, Registrar Dr Ravichand, Dean of Academics Dr Ismail and Head of the Department of Physics Dr K Narendra felicitated Dr Dadamiah PMD. The programme was coordinated by Dr Fakruddin and Dr Rupa Venkateswara Rao.
