Nunna Rural CI dies while on duty

Vijayawada: Nunna Rural (Payakapuram) Police Station Circle Inspector Ahmed Ali, under NTR District Police Commissionerate, died of cardiac arrest while on duty at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada on Sunday. Police were deployed at the venue in connection with ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ protest by Swarna Gram and Swarna Ward Sachivalayam employees.

According to police officials, Ahmed Ali was performing bandobast duty at Dharna Chowk when he suddenly collapsed. His colleagues and other police personnel immediately shifted him to Andhra Hospital in Vijayawada for treatment.

Despite efforts by doctors, the Inspector died while undergoing treatment, hospital sources said. The sudden death of the police officer cast a pall of gloom among his colleagues and police personnel deployed at the protest venue. Senior police officials expressed condolences to the bereaved family and paid tributes to the deceased officer.

Ahmed Ali had been performing duty as part of the security arrangements made at Dharna Chowk to regulate the gathering and maintain law and order during the employees’ protest.

Minister Anitha expresses shock over CI’s death

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha expressed shock and grief over the death of Nunna Rural Inspector Ahmed Ali, who died while discharging his duties in Vijayawada on Sunday. In a statement, the Minister said it was tragic that Ahmed Ali died after suffering a health emergency while on duty. She said the loss of an efficient police officer was deeply painful. Anitha conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of Ahmed Ali and assured them that the government would stand by the family and extend all necessary support.
