Visakhapatnam: Department of Civil Engineering, MVGR College of Engineering (A), Vizianagaram organised a five-day online FDP programme on ‘digital transformation in civil engineering: ai, sustainable infrastructure & geospatial technologies’.

Addressing the gathering on Saturday, retired scientist ISRO YVNK Murthy, the chief guest, highlighted the growing importance of geospatial technologies in transforming civil engineering practices.

He explained that technologies such as remote sensing, GIS, satellite imagery, GPS, drones and spatial data analytics are enabling engineers to collect, analyse and visualise large-scale information with greater accuracy and efficiency.

Dr Murthy stressed the need for civil engineering faculty and students to continuously upgrade their digital skills and embrace emerging technologies to meet the changing requirements of the profession.

He appreciated MVGR College of Engineering for organising FDP and providing a platform for faculty members, researchers and professionals to gain exposure to contemporary developments in Civil Engineering.

Principal-MVGR YMC Sekhar, HoD–civil engineering Rajendra Prasad Singh, FDP co-convener S Chandramouli, coordinators A Varaprasad and TP Sreejani, among others, attended the valedictory programme.
