Visakhapatnam: The district administration has stepped up preparations for Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Visakhapatnam on September 19, with officials focusing on security, traffic management, transportation, parking and other arrangements to ensure the programmes are conducted in the city in a hassle-free manner.

District Collector M Abhishikth Kishore, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg and Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi inspected key venues and reviewed the arrangements on Thursday. The officials visited the helipad at the Andhra University campus and the main venue of AU College of Engineering grounds for the house patta distribution programme where the Chief Minister will distribute the house site pattas to the beneficiaries. During the inspection, the officials reviewed seating arrangements for beneficiaries, venue arrangements, security measures, vehicle movement, parking space and other logistical requirements. They also interacted with the officials concerned and directed them to ensure that all arrangements are completed within the stipulated time frame.

The Collector and Police Commissioner inspected beach road, where the ‘Swarnandhra-Swachhandhra’ programme is scheduled to be held.

They examined the arrangements at the venue, including security, traffic regulation, movement of participants and other facilities.

The Collector and Police Commissioner held discussions with Joint Collector Gobbilla Vidyadhari, the nodal officer for the programme at the Andhra University venue, and inspected the arrangements relating to programme management and security.

They discussed preparations for the programme scheduled at the Beach Road with GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, who is the nodal officer for the event.
